      （On February 2nd, Jiangsu issued a notice from the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment on further improving the environmental impact assessment and approval of construction projects, which clearly stipulates that the construction, production, and use of solvent based coatings, inks, adhesives, and other projects with high VOC content are prohibited. (2) The regulation of "two reductions, six treatments, and three improvements" in Taizhou City requires the mandatory implementation of water-based paint substitution. By the end of 2018, industries such as printing and packaging, containers, transportation vehicles, machinery and equipment, artificial boards, furniture, and shipbuilding will fully use water-based paint with low VOC content. (3) On May 28th, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, released the "2018 Work Plan for the Prevention and Control of Volatile Organic Compound Pollution in Xuzhou City". The plan proposes that 738 enterprises in the printing and packaging, transportation, machinery and equipment, artificial boards, furniture, shipbuilding and other industries will fully use water-based coatings and adhesives with low VOC content to replace the original organic solvents, cleaning agents, adhesives, etc. (4) On May 28th, according to the Paint Procurement Network, in order to consolidate the effectiveness of the previous round of VOCs control work and ensure that the existing control projects can effectively reduce emissions, in accordance with the requirements of the "Thirteenth Five Year VOCs Deepening Prevention and Control Work Plan" issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and six other departments, Shanghai has decided to carry out a special inspection of VOCs emitting enterprises throughout the city from March to June. The inspection schedule is in March, with a focus on the manufacturing industry of coatings, inks, and similar products; June: Focus on inspecting the petroleum refining industry, petrochemical industry, shipbuilding industry, and automobile manufacturing (painting) industry. (5) In the document released by the Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development of Fujian Province on further promoting the application of low (no) volatile organic compound content coatings in construction projects in Fujian Province, it is also clearly stated that low (no) VOCs coatings should be used, and the VOCs content in the coatings should be clearly indicated. It is strictly prohibited to use building coating products that are prohibited by national or provincial orders or listed in the elimination catalog. (6) Linyi, Shandong Province has issued the 13th Five Year Plan for Environmental Protection in Linyi City. Planning requirements: For new motor vehicle and mechanical spraying projects, the proportion of water-based coatings used should not be less than 80%; Eliminate all production facilities for paints, adhesives, etc. that collect, recycle/purify non-volatile organic compounds. (7) The People's Government of Hebei Province has issued the "Three Year Action Plan for Winning the Blue Sky Defense War in Hebei Province", which prohibits the construction, production, and use of solvent based coatings, inks, adhesives, and other projects with high VOC content.
